30.03.2010

A trip down memory lane today, this was my all time favorite breakfast cereal as a kid and I thought they had stopped making it, but when I was shopping the other day I saw this box and had to buy it, I guess it must be coming back, it has pretty cool retro packaging too.

29.03.2010

Fallout 3 100% 72 out of 72 Achievements. Not a good photo but something that I have been doing for a while, probably over 150 hours of my life.

28.03.2010

There is this old abandoned building down Claygate Lane which I run past, It is mostly fenced off but I managed to take this picture of this abandoned desk lying in the bushes next to it through the fence and I was really happy with it.

27.03.2010

Richmond Bridge as it was getting dark, taken on iPhone in bad light hence the grainyness. Will go back with my dslr are retake I think.

26.03.2010

25.03.2010

A couple of photos from the Chuck Ragan gig at the Peel, 2 of the better photos from a quick scan through, I'm going to upload them all as soon as I sort through them.

24.03.2010

Thought this sky was pretty cool.

23.03.2010

I really like taking photos of textures as even the most simple of subjects can look a lot more interesting if you capture the textures and how they are affected by lights and darks. Here are 2 photos of some textures, some wooden planks where the grains of wood are really pronounced and a brick wall where the mortar has been worn away leaving a very rough brick face, I also love the colours in this brickwork. Both are pretty interesting in my opinion.

22.03.2010

I spent pretty much the whole of Monday sitting infront of my computer working so when it came to about 10pm and I hadn't taken a picture of anything I thought I might as well take a picture of what I had been staring at all day.

Tuesday 23 March 2010

21.03.2010

Drain pipe in Thames Ditton. I think there needs to be more going on in the RHS of the picture.

20.03.2010

Another iphone shot, Kingston skyline taken from the multistory car park. was quite pleased how this came out considering it was on an iphone.

19.03.2010

Church in East Molesey at night, only taken on my iphone so I would like to go back and re-take this shot as I really liked the up-lighting of the church and the shadows that were cast upon it by the trees in the foreground.

Friday 19 March 2010

18.03.2010

NCP car park in kingston, I really liked the way the yellow of the sign looked and the way the light seeped onto the building behind. The yellowness of the sign did not come out as I wanted, as it has been bleached by the backlight of the sign, but the light seepage onto the building came out reasonably well.

This might be one I go back and retake at a later date.

17.03.2010

David Hockney inspired joiner test of the shed in my back garden, took the photo in the back garden as I didnt want to stand out in the street taking loads of photos of something. I was pretty pleased with this test and enjoyed it and I think I might try it out again sometime.

check the full size version on my flickr to see all the details

16.03.2010

Tea in an orange mug, not the best photo, but I was struggling for inspiration/motivation today.

Did the classic focus of the image in colour on a b&w background.

15.03.2010

Whilst driving to work I saw all these crows congregating on top of this tree

14.03.2010

Giggs Hill green on Portsmouth Road near Thames Ditton and Surbiton. Another attempt at hdr, it was a really cloudy day with the grey clouds hiding the sun and I had a feeling the sky would look good as a hdr, I am pretty pleased with the overall result.

I took quite a few photos I was pleased with this day, here are some of the others.

Sunday 14 March 2010

13.03.2010

train station signal at Hinchley Wood station, might retake this as I wasn't entirely happy with the composition

12.03.2010

Went to London to meet with my brother and whist I was there I took some photos, I was pretty pleased with most of them but I think this was my favorite as it shows an iconic London image but at the same time shows the grimy side of London.

Friday 12 March 2010

11.03.2010

Forgot to take my dslr into Kingston so I had to use my iphone, but I think this shot of the Bentalls Centre ceiling came out pretty well, looks kinda sci-fi and space age.

Thursday 11 March 2010

10.03.2010

took a few shots of this aquaduct down my road, I took a few and they looked better on the camera screen than when I looked at them full size, anyway, this was my favorite.

Wednesday 10 March 2010

09.03.2010

Another hdr shot that I am pleased with, taken whilst stuck in traffic in East Molesey. I converted it to black and white as I felt it had more impact, colour version here

08.03.2010

I was having some difficulty getting inspiration today and the best I could come up with was this shot of some stairs.

Tuesday 9 March 2010

07.03.2010

pretty poor day for photos today as I was recovering from the night before, here is a another experiment with photoshop to try and create that aged diana feel.

06.03.2010

I wanted to try and replicate the effect of an old photo taken with a Diana camera, I am pretty pleased with how it turned out. took this with my iphone which explains the poor quality, the original can be found here

05.03.2010

A delapedated building near my house, i took this with high saturation and contrast and I really like how the colour of the windows came out. I will hopefully go back and take some more photos of this building.

Friday 5 March 2010

04.03.2010

Thought the colour of the sky coming over this tree was pretty interesting.

03.03.2010

Metal garage door in East Molesey. I really like the vivid colour of the door.

Wednesday 3 March 2010

02.03.2010

The frost on the moss on the tin roof outside my window.

01.03.2010

Had no idea what to photograph today, but saw this sky out of my window and thought I would shoot it as the colours were interesting, I have done no photoshopping to this, these colours are as they were.

Tuesday 2 March 2010

28.02.2010

Had a go at a hdr image, im not usually a fan but in this instance I think it worked quite well, mainly because I tried to keep it quite subtle. Personally I really liked the contrasts between the sky, the blue of the netting and the brickwork.
