Although its not something I would normally take a picture of I walk past these flowers in my front garden everyday and they have really grown over the last week and the engulf most of the flower bed, I thought I would be able to show how they engulf the flower bed by taking the picture up close, I think this worked quite well.

As I was back home this weekend I had some potential new stuff to shoot, so whilst I was thinking about what to take I had an idea to take some shots of my mums paint brushes, I used my 50mm lens as I wanted some interesting depth of field. The room they are in is well lit and I was pretty pleased with how the colours and dof came out, I think they look like shots you might see in a art supplies magazine or something like that. There are a few more shots on my flickr.

As the weather was good Dad took his Ford Anglia out for a drive and I finally got a ride in it, while it was out I thought I would take some shots of it.

Not a particularly good picture today as I was quite busy, this is the flint wall out of my bedroom back home. I quite of like the contrasts between the 3 different sections of the picture.

A trip down memory lane today, this was my all time favorite breakfast cereal as a kid and I thought they had stopped making it, but when I was shopping the other day I saw this box and had to buy it, I guess it must be coming back, it has pretty cool retro packaging too.

I really like taking photos of textures as even the most simple of subjects can look a lot more interesting if you capture the textures and how they are affected by lights and darks. Here are 2 photos of some textures, some wooden planks where the grains of wood are really pronounced and a brick wall where the mortar has been worn away leaving a very rough brick face, I also love the colours in this brickwork. Both are pretty interesting in my opinion.

I spent pretty much the whole of Monday sitting infront of my computer working so when it came to about 10pm and I hadn't taken a picture of anything I thought I might as well take a picture of what I had been staring at all day.
